The first thing I noticed was the absence of pain

Comfort should not feel revolutionary. But for many trans women, it does.

When Andrea first tried the Vicky Baey Essential Tucking Thong, she did not start by talking about the cut, the fabric or the silhouette. She said something much simpler.

“The first thing I noticed was the absence of pain and tightness.” That stayed with us. Because this is exactly why Vicky Baey exists. Not to make underwear that trans women have to tolerate, but to create tucking underwear that feels secure, feminine and genuinely comfortable enough for real life.

Meet Andrea

Andrea describes herself as a fierce and fabulous trans woman.

A future superstar. A model. A makeup artist. An educator working with young children.

Fashion has always been part of how she expresses herself and builds confidence. She loves short skirts, leggings, dresses and anything that makes her feel sexy.

For her, style is about feeling beautiful, authentic and empowered.

But getting dressed has not always been simple.

When clothing comes with calculation

Like many trans women, she knows what it feels like to choose an outfit and still worry about whether everything sits the way she wants it to.

She wants clothing that helps her feel feminine and confident, without worrying about her crotch taking all the attention.

That sentence is honest.

And for many of us, painfully familiar.

Because sometimes getting dressed is not just getting dressed.

It is checking. Adjusting. Layering. Compromising. Wondering if you will be comfortable for more than an hour.

That is the mental load we wanted to reduce.

Comfort, confidence and femininity

Throughout her transition, her understanding of femininity has evolved.

For her, femininity is not only about how something looks.

It is about feeling at ease with yourself.

Because when your underwear hurts, digs in or makes you constantly aware of your body, it is hard to feel free.

Comfort is not the opposite of femininity.

Comfort makes femininity easier to live in.

Confidence cannot exist without comfort.

The first thing she noticed

When she first wore the Vicky Baey thong, what surprised her was not drama.

It was relief.

For so long, she had accepted discomfort as something normal. Almost as if pain was the price she had to pay to function in society and feel feminine.

Wearing the Vicky Baey thong made her realise it did not have to be that way.

Properly designed tucking underwear can provide comfort and confidence.

And that can feel incredibly freeing.

It felt comfortable in a way I wasn’t used to.

Why she wanted to work with us

When she first heard about Vicky Baey, the mission immediately resonated with her.

She was excited for the trans women who shared similar experiences and needed products designed with them in mind.

“I knew that if there was any way I could contribute, I wanted to be involved.”

That means everything to us.

Because Vicky Baey is not a brand speaking from the outside.

One of our founders is a trans woman. Our product was tested with trans women. Our fittings, feedback and development process were shaped by the people we are designing for.

This is personal.

And it should be.

What lingerie brands need to understand

For her, the message to the wider lingerie industry is clear.

Trans women have specific needs that deserve to be acknowledged and respected.

Access to lingerie designed for our bodies is not a luxury.

It can affect confidence, comfort and self-esteem.

That is why inclusion cannot stop at campaign imagery.

It has to show up in the product.

Representation matters.

But design matters too.

When you don’t see yourself represented in stores or products, it can feel isolating.

Designed to feel like yourself

The Vicky Baey Essential Tucking Thong was created for everyday tucking, with soft support, a smoother front and a feminine silhouette.

It is designed in Belgium, handmade in Portugal and developed with feedback from trans women.

If you are between sizes, our guide on how to choose your Vicky Baey size walks you through it.

Not because one piece of underwear changes everything.

But because the right piece of underwear can make getting dressed feel easier.

One less thing to worry about. One less thing to adjust. One less reason to feel uncomfortable in your own clothes.

And sometimes, that is exactly what confidence begins with.

Love, Vicky x
